Art at 342

In February 2014 I moved to a new studio north of Terry Lake in Fort Collins.  The space is roomy and bright (but cozy), adjacent to other artist studios, on a rural property in a bucolic setting, and the best part of all is that I get to share the studio with my buddy Micah Richardson!  My former studio was in the Art Center of Fort Collins, where a change in ownership prompted the closure of the Poudre River Gallery and the dissolution of the Poudre Studio Artists co-operative.

The facility that houses my new studio at 342 West Douglas is quite different from the Art Center, in that it is not open to the public.  My time there is focused on production of artwork and the management of my business (Gale Whitman Art Studio).  In all there are five connected artist studios, in addition to the property owners’ home and the shop that houses their studios.

Coming in June — during Fort Collins Studio Tour — is an opportunity for the art-loving public to visit ‘Art at 342.’  Please visit the Studio Tour website or Facebook page for more information on the June 27-29 event.  Hope to see you then!
